El director general de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS),
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, aseveró que la institución está “consternada” por el ataque en el Hospital Al-Shifa de la Franja de Gaza.
Por medio de su cuenta oficial en la red social X, confirmó la muerte de 12 personas, incluidos pacientes y decenas de heridos graves.
A su vez, destacó que los profesionales de la salud y civiles “nunca deberían verse expuestos a semejante horror” y menos en un centro hospitalario.
“La OMS está consternada por un ataque al hospital en Gaza, que habría causado 12 muertos, incluidos pacientes, y decenas de heridos, incluidos algunos graves y potencialmente mortales”, precisó.

Por otra parte, este lunes 20 de noviembre, Adhanom Ghebreyesus también confirmó el traslado de 28 de los 31 bebés prematuros que fueron evacuados del hospital Al-Shifa a Al-Arish, para recibir tratamiento médico en Egipto.

Aseguró que tres neonatos “continúan recibiendo tratamiento en el hospital Emarati en el sur Gaza”.
“Todos los bebés luchan contra infecciones graves y otras afecciones, y necesitan atención médica especializada”, precisó.
